With the warmer weather finally here, you know what that means? It’s beach time! Were lucky enough to be a hop, skip and a jump away from one of the best warm weather RVing destinations in the country: Virginia Beach. If you’re considering heading east for a vacation, you certainly can’t go wrong hitting up Virginia Beach.
Not only is there an abundance of beaches, there’s quite a few other things to do and places to see that will make your trip worth its while. Sure, the beach is a great way to spend any day of the week, but what happens when it’s time to get out of the sun for awhile? There are plenty of restaurants in Virginia Beach that will have you coming back for more, If you’re a seafood lover, you can always visit Chix Sea Grill and Bar, or the Surf Club Ocean Grill for fresh caught seafood and award-winning chef’s creations. If you’re more of a steak person, check out Sofia’s North End Grill and Tripp’s Restaurant. You won’t have any trouble at all finding a great little restaurant to sit out by the beach and enjoy a great meal and spend some time with your family and friends.
When you first arrive to Virginia Beach and you need a place to stay, Carefree Camping is the place to go. They are run by a camp-loving family that have been in the Virginia Beach area for close to 20 years and they know how it’s done. They even have special packages where they will provide you with food, a tent, a grill, and a hammock. If that’s not customer service, then I don’t know what is.
If you’re bringing along a couple of thrill-seekers, there are plenty of places to get your adrenaline pumping. Amusement parks are everywhere you turn and each of them has a different draw, so you’ll never feel like you’ve spent your money on the same thing. Busch Gardens is one of the most popular amusement parks in all of the United States, with thrill rides, kid’s rides and plenty more to choose from. If you’re more in the mood for a water park, then the Ocean Breeze Waterpark should be your best bet. Located just a couple of miles from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, it’s attractions include a million gallon wave pool, thrill rides and plenty of kid’s rides. If you visit their website, they always have a daily deal to save you some money!
If you’re looking to visit museums and learn about the Virginian history, then you’re in luck. There are quite a few of them for you to spend a few hours and learn something new. The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center will teach you about the fascinating world in the ocean. You can even take in an ocean-oriented movie in IMAX and put plenty of smiles on your kids faces. For all the art lovers out there, the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art is the place to be. You can take in an exhibit and let the kids learn about art from one of their interactive art spaces.
Next time you sit down to find a place to travel for vacation, consider Virginia Beach. You won’t be disappointed.
