Not only can you appreciate the beautiful natural setting of the trail, but there is also opportunity for bouldering as well.

The Friendly Wild Ponies

And of course, we can’t forget the adorable wild ponies! If you’re looking for something unique, this is a great adventure to have! From countless reviews to images of the ponies with kids hiking the trails, you can tell right away that these ponies are extremely docile and friendly to all visitors. While you cannot pet or feed them, they will still occasionally come up to you. This is an awesome experience for kids and adults alike!

As a reassurance to you, these ponies are all rounded up once a year for a vet check and then once again released back into the park. These ponies are healthy and happy, and hikers love watching them roam. Not just anyone can say they’ve seen a wild pony, except for the folks who camp at Grayson Highlands!
